good morning, cyberspace!
Guys! Guys! GUYS!!!!
Guess what.
I did a thing. A really, really cool thing. A SuPeR cool thing, in fact.
. . .
I finished part one of March Hare Madness.
*insert intense and dramatic squealing here*
ASDFGHJKL!! I cannot believe this. I, The Kenzie, have completed Part One of March Hare Madness. If you would have told me three weeks ago that I would actually complete my first goal on time*, I would never have believed you. I would have agreed that I would try, but did I actually believe I could do the thing?
No. Not at all.
BUT I DID IT. My story is there. It’s tangible. It’s a living and breathing thing, and I — The Great and Powerful Kenzie — have put it into existence.
Over many many days and hours of blood, sweat, and tears.
But it was worth it, my friends. Oh, how it was worth it. The madness, the delirium, the constant pain in my neck from crouching over my laptop for multiple hours on end. IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.
And now, my dearest beans, comes Part Two.
(*okay okay, so TECHNICALLY i was supposed to finish on or before March 15th, and i actually completed the 11 chapters on March 16th. . .at 12:01 am. BUT COME ON NOW, ARE WE REALLY GOING TO LET TWO MEASLY MINUTES STAND IN THE WAY OF MY GREATNESS? NO. no, i think not.)

· · · The Weekly Recap! · · ·
March Hare Madness! – Part One, Week Three
Goal- . . . write 11 chapters in 15 days . . .
Chapters Completed- . . . 11 . . .
Chapters Remaining- . . . 0 . . .
Does that big fat zero look delectable or what? I am so happy right now, guys. I am so, SO close, and yet. . .
March Hare Madness! – Part Two, Week Three
Goal – . . . edit/polish the book for betas
Edits Completed- . . . 3-ish. . .? . . .
Edits Remaining- . . . ????? . . .
Aha. See, I’m really not sure what on earth I’m doing right now, folks. I have a list of edits that need to be done to this book, but that list just keeps on changing and shrinking and expanding and morphing, and I’m just a very confuzzled little bean right now, okay?
But it’s fine. Everything’s fine. All I need to do is add in the severed arm, and everything will be okay again. . .
I have a guesstimate as to when I’ll be finished, though! — March 31 of 2081.
It’s gonna be great. *thumbs up*

· · · What’s Happening! · · ·
Some of you might have noticed that this segment was mysteriously missing from last week’s update. This was, rather unfortunately, due to the fact that literally nothing happened that week.
Or. You know. Very little actually happened that I couldn’t just slap into the Highlight reel.
But alas. Some things have happened this week that I feel should be mentioned. Beginning with –
- I caught a cold . . . joy. so if you’re reading this post and feel like something’s just a tad off, you are very correct, my dear bean. and that thing would be my face. because i lopped it off with blunt scissors.
- I discovered the glory that is Honey Lemon Tea . . . and before you go squealing to the mountaintops that KENZIE HAS FINALLY FOUND A TEA SHE LIKES ASDFGHJKL THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!! let me put your distress at ease. This tea literally has no tea in it. It is just hot lemon water with honey. and it is delicious. sort of. You have to get the blend of honey to lemon just right, or it is WAAAAY too sickly sweet. Which is just ew.
- I took a bit of a writerly break over the weekend . . . and while my tiny hiatus was VERY restful, I sort of wish I hadn’t taken it, BECAUSE NOW I AM SICK. GAH. but that’s okay. I’m just going to keep editing and praying that whatever elephant mucus took a massive dump on my face will just magically disappear soon. Aha. #help
- UPDATE ON HONEY LEMON TEA- . . . THIS STUFF IS DISGUSTING AND PUTRID AND MADE ME NAUSEOUS AND I SHALL NEVER EVER EVER DRINK THIS GUNK AGAIN. NEVER.
And that’s basically it for the What’s Happening!. In a nutshell, I took a tiny break from writing and was therefore punished by the writerly gnomes by getting clobbered in the face with The Cold™.
But is that going to stop me from editing my book???
OF COURSE NOT. Because this is March Hare Madness, and I am Kenzie, and KENZIE DON’T BACK DOWN, PEASANTS!
This cold. . .it shall die.
(Update on The Cold™ – the cold killed me. I am but a lonely ghost.)

· · · Week Two Highlights! · · ·
- I FINISHED PART ONE OF MARCH HARE MADNESS!!! . . . which you already know. BUT WHATEVER. I’M JUST UBER EXCITED, OKAY??? (be excited with me, okay? please?)
- I discovered a scene of my WIP that I totally forgot to write . . . HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
- Over the course of 15 days, I am the closest to the end of writing this draft than I have ever been before . . . and while I know that TECHNICALLY I could say that after completing literally anything within this draft, I can’t help but feel like I’m slowly, sloooowly creeping up on the day when I can send this off to betas. and this frightens me. but also excites me on SO many levels. So. The excitement and terror is beginning to set in, apparently.
- I feel like these highlights are always me blabbing about how excited I am.
- #predictable.
And those are my highlights for the week. As you can see, the excitement still stands. Even though it has since been worn down and battered by the fact that I haven’t been able to get off the couch for the past two days. But OH WELL. The editing will come.
Just…not right now. BUT IT WILL COME, I SWEAR.

HAHA. PSYCH.
Okay, I know you’re probably going to hate me for this, but here’s the thing-
I have felt awful the past couple days (#Cold™[thus the reason why this post isn’t getting slapped into the blogosphere until Wednesday]), which means that I completely neglected to write out an interview with Nate this week.
BUT. I’m still doing Nate’s interview! Just…not this week. Instead, I’m going to do it NEXT week, and then end the month with a giant flourish the week after that.
(a.k.a. a giant everlost interview with the whole gang. [meaning Thao and Adaline and Peter and Bella. obviously])
So. There is no interview this week. I am really, REALLY sorry, guys! Hopefully next week’s interview will make up for the lack of one this week!
#doubtful
talk to me, peasants!
Well that’s all I’ve got for this week, folks! I know this smudge probably feels like it was slapped together, but OH WELL. It’s the best I can do in my current feverish state of mind.
actually, the fever’s gone now, but lol whatever.
Anyway! What have you guys been up to for the past week and one day? Have you gotten any writing done? Are you prepping for Camp NaNoWriMo? (we have 10 days left, folks! [*insert intense freaking out here*]) Are you, like me, excited that I’ve finished the first part of March Hare Madness and are prepared to come flail for eternity with me?? DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN? EDIT MY NOVEL??? (i’ll pay you ten bucks every 30 hours) Seriously, now. This deal is a steal.
As always, let us talk about ALL OF THE THINGS down in the comments below! And until next time. . .
*flings cookies in the air and disappears*
Yayyyyyy!! You did it!!!! Youch, two minutes! That must have been hectic! XD You know, you could even devote Camp April to editing everlost, if you really want to finish the draft, and then maybe work on the new story for Camp July. But maybe it’s better to take a break from EV for Camp and work on something you’ve been wanting to work on for awhile! :P

EEEEEP! I know!!! I am so excited. I am yet another step closer to finishing this draft!!!! *celebrates for two years* Ugh. Yes. It was awful. But then I got to go to bed, so I was happy. XD Actually, I THINK I might be doing that. I’m not really ready to plunge headfirst into another story quite yet, and it’s only one week away until Camp. So I think I’m going to be working on editing this week, and then continue the editing in April. (even though I REALLY wanted to finish this month. :(( )
NOOOO! No breaks!!! If I break away from EV now, I might never come back. I’m having some serious doubts about this story. XD

I’ll take that deal and edit your novel for you. 10 bucks for 30 hours is good enough for me XD Besides, I get to read your book while I’m at it!!! (I can build a snowman too, if you want XD)
But, would you be able to throw in a cookie with that deal? XD Preferably at my face….

Ooh! A buyer! Great. I’ll send over the manuscript and all of my editing notes on Tuesday. It’ll probably arrive in a giant truck, though, because I don’t think all of these papers will fit in the mail… (yes. definitely build a snowman.)
Oh! Of course! Here you are! *flings a cookie at your face*

You’re making great progress! Two minutes past midnight still counts as the 15th, definitely. (And I bet there was a clock nearby that was two minutes slow to make it official.)
Camp Nano is coming. Eep!

I WAS making good progress… And then this cold hit and knocked me out. D: But! This week I shall continue the adventure!!!! *whips out bloody pitchfork* I know, right?? And because of the useless time change, I was like an hour ahead, right??? So.
I KNOW!!! I can’t believe it. I think I’m going to be working on EV next month… Aha… XD

WHOOO I knew the TimTams would help! xP Go Kenzie!
And I’m kind of freaking out over the upcoming Camp, but I’m doing [so many] hours of study/assessments, so… yeah. If I don’t get them done I’ll be freaking out more.
Hope you’re feeling entirely better soon – and that edits go well – and I’m super excited to hear about the giant interview you have planned for the epic finale!!

THEY TRULY DID!!!!!! *is excited* I’m trying! But this cold totally knocked me out for an entire week…. *is ded*
Ugh. Same, Jem. Same. But it’s mostly because I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing for Camp, so my pain is not near as severe as yours… *hugs* YOU’VE GOT THIS, MY FRIEND!!!! *flings cookies at your face* Studying is blech, but at least you’re learning new things, yes??? (who am i kidding, studying is the worst. :P )
I’m actually feeling a LOT better today! This past week was awful for edits, but I’m planning on working on ALL OF THE THINGS today, so we’ll see how that goes… I’m super excited to figure out what the interview is!! XD It’s gonna be awesome. (i hope…?)

Congrats!!! And yes, I do want to build a snowman. It’s the 3rd day of spring and there is a foot of snow in my backyard.

Ooh. I’m sorry!! :(( I think it should be a law that all snow MUST melt by Spring. Unless you like snow. Then I guess snow in Spring is like a miracle??? Anyhow, WE SHOULD TOTALLY BUILD THAT SNOWMAN! XD

I kinda want to move to Iceland, so…. Also, there was a spider on the ceiling today that my mother failed to kill, which is probably the #1 reason I don’t like the warmer months…. :| But yes, let’s build the snowman. :)

AH. So you must love the snow! …right? Or is Iceland the place that is green, and Greenland the place that is the frozen tundra??? I AM SO BAD AT GEOGRAPHY. XD Oh goodness, spiders are the creepiest. Once I was writing in bed at like 11 at night, and the only source of light in the entire room was the glow from my laptop. Suddenly, as I’m happily typing away like the smol little writer that I am, THIS GIANT SPIDER COMES A-CRAWLING ALONG THE WALL RIGHT. BESIDE. MY FACE. It freaked me out. I think I died that night. XD
LET US BUILD THE SNOWMAN!!! *begins balling canned snow*

Iceland and Greenland are both snowy… I think. :P And yeah, spiders = evacuate the area if you survive long enough.
*throws an Icelandic, non-canned snowball*

Oh! Well, then, I was right either way, yes?? XD TEN POINTS FOR KENZIE!!!! XD And that is the best description of spiders ever. XD
Actually, we literally had our yard covered in snow this morning. Like seriously. It’s April, and there is SNOW. WHY.

I’m really curious as to what happened in that amount of time to make you so gravely dislike honey lemon tea… O_O
BUT ANYWAY YAY YOU’RE DOING SO AWESOOOOOME. :D

HA! XD Well, it’s not that long a story. In a nutshell, I drank two cups of it because I thought it was helping, and then I began to get REALLY nauseous. It was all hot and lemony and honey-y in my stomach, and I nearly puked. So. XD
EEEEEP!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! All progress has pretty much halted, but I’M FINALLY ALIVE AGAIN!!!! So today is the day of blogging and writing. I am all of the excite!!! XD
