NaNoWriMo Dare Squad Day 10 — Weekly Check In!
We’ve been plowing through the NaNo for a solid ten days now (and even more or less depending on where you are in this great big world of ours) and it is officially time for our first check in!
If you — like me — are going for the traditional 50k, your word count goal for the day is 16,666 words. If you’re a rebel, your goal could be anything from hitting 10k to writing the next chapter of your short story. Whatever your word count goal is for the day, however, it typically helps to have some sort of accountability and public shaming to keep you pressing towards it.
So let’s discuss our NaNoWriMo progress, peasants! What is your word count/goal for the day, how close are you to meeting it, and how has your overall NaNoWriMo experience been thus far? Are you succeeding? Failing? Need some motivation or a pep talk? Let’s talk about all of the NaNo things and cheer each other on towards the end goal!
Smudged Thoughts 
Hey all! I, um, won NaNoWriMo in the first eight days. *blushes* The eighth day was SO INTENSE because I wrote over 12,000 words. But since my challenge is to have a completed first draft of The Darkness is Past, I still have a long way to go (and apparently my motivation died a stone cold death when I officially ‘won’). THE CHALLENGE IS NOT OVER.
I’m planning to write a blog post about how I did it, so yeah. That’ll take up a chunk of my writing time today.

WOOT! CONGRATS! I hope you can complete your story, motivation is tough to find after hitting 50k, but I suppose after a really intense writing time, it’s good to slow down a bit and recharge before diving back in.

Motivation is soooo tough but I’m going to a write-in tomorrow (did I already mention that?) which will hopefully boost my inspiration.
I almost want to do a dare though…

And oh goodness, it sounds like you’ve still got some work ahead of you! BUT YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Don’t lose your momentum now!! You’ve got this in the bag!!

My NaNo started out well, okay, the very first day was rather rough, but I always got my daily word count in and managed a smidge extra for the first few days. But I never got ahead by much, and while I haven’t gotten behind on vanilla NaNo, I have gotten behind on my own goal. I need 31,250 words today to be on track, and I’m currently at 23,630. I’m hoping I can get all caught up by tomorrow, because oh my goodness, my deadline is in 6 days! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I have to write like crazy now!
